Our Keynote Speaker

Conrad Hughes Linkedin
Conrad Hughes (MA, PhD, EdD) is the Director General of the International School of Geneva. He has served as School Principal, Director of Education, International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Coordinator, and subject teacher in schools in France, India, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. He currently teaches Theory of Knowledge.

Conrad is also a Senior Fellow at UNESCO’s International Bureau of Education, a member of the advisory board for the University of the People, and research assistant in the University of Geneva’s Department of Psychology and Education.

He is the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. As Director of Education at the International School of Geneva he led the publication of Guiding Principles for Learning in the 21st Century with UNESCO. His latest books include Education and Elitism: Challenges and Opportunities (2021, Routledge), Understanding Prejudice and Education: The Challenge for Future Generations (2017, Routledge) and Educating for the 21st Century: Seven Global Challenges (2018, Brill).
