Busting the Myths About ManageBac+
Dear Educator,
Over the past year, it has become increasingly apparent that certain competitors have been using inaccurate comparison matrices featuring ManageBac+, and spreading general misinformation about our platform’s capabilities and features.
We recognise that selecting the right LMS for your school is critical, and having accurate information to make that decision is essential. You deserve honesty, not marketing spin. We want to lay out the truth and debunk the most misleading claims, because we believe integrity matters.
Myth 1:
We're only for IB schools
Reality:
We support IB, British, American, hybrid, and national curricula - 84% of our schools run two or more curricula through our platform. With over 600 academic and accreditation standards and 1.5 million licensed benchmarks, it's the world’s largest collection of standards. We also offer the flexibility to create custom-built standards tailored to your school’s needs.
Myth 2:
We're not up to date with IB developments
Reality:
We’ve deployed all five DP updates, and the MYP Beta trial is available to join via the platform. Core updates are planned for this summer, with PYP updates to be released before the next academic year, Transdisciplinary Theme descriptors are already available. Our curriculum team is comprised of IBEN members with over 40 years of IB teaching experience, and they meet monthly with the IB.
Myth 3:
We're not designed for PYP
Reality:
Trusted by over 800 PYP schools, we support IB Standards and Practices through collaborative unit planning and built-in IB templates. Our new Portfolio feature showcases Evidence of Learning in multimedia formats, with tagging for ATL skills and Learner Profile attributes. Standards tagging and powerful learning analytics are coming soon. A Portfolio Timeline keeps parents engaged through comments and likes, accessible anytime on desktop or mobile.
Myth 4:
We're not developing AI capability
Reality:
We believe AI is a tool - not a feature to be monetised. We are committed to using AI to enhance, not replace, the teaching and learning experience. That means prioritising ethical use, data security, clear integration pathways, and a deep understanding of the educational outcomes we want to achieve. While tools that save time are helpful, those that genuinely improve learning outcomes, such as personalised learning pathways, offer far greater value.
Our approach is grounded in responsible innovation. We’re developing a number of features enhanced by AI, with significant new capabilities coming in October, to help schools save time, improve efficiency, and unlock new possibilities for learning.
AI must be built on strong pedagogical foundations and aligned with the real needs of schools. The future of AI in education is promising - but only if we get it right.
