Session Highlights
Paradigm Shift in School Project Management
This session is a workshop on the topic of school project management and the paradigm shift that has taken place in this area. We discuss our evolution and current best practices in project management using ManageBac, after conducting a year of action research in the MYP at International School of Bergen. On this journey we have shifted from project invisibility to project visibility. We will explain how we have achieved good communication, accessibility, inclusion, and transparency. The result is a coherent and cohesive continuum in our project work, which can transfer to project work across the IB continuum.
Speaker Bio
I hail from the nether regions of Wales, UK. I have worked in international education for 20 years and prior to that worked in the oil industry. Currently I am employed at the International School of Bergen, Norway as the Community Cove Coordinator, aka Librarian. I work with classes from preschool to Grade 10.
My colleague and I, Jennifer Oelz, have worked with ManageBac since 2012 as platform administrators. We have built a system for our students that has allowed us to organise both staff and students. It also allows us to see areas where students require further development, help and support. Parents are able to follow their child’s progress every step of the way.
Through ManageBac, I have achieved my ManageBac Certificate for Administrators and Community Ambassador Certificate.
This school year we are conducting action research on projects in ManageBac and will be holding a workshop in Geneva.
